Overview

The Mekong Delta is an exotic world of its own. Thousands of waterways form a labyrinth lined with lush vegetation, mangrove swamps and verdant rice fields. The Mekong people live in small fishing villages and boats. Get up close on a sampan boat to witness the tastes and sounds of a floating market at dawn can be the experience of a lifetime.

Day 1: Panorama River Cruise (Lunch/Dinner)

• In the morning we take you to Can Tho or Cai Be. You board your comfortable wooden river cruise vessel around noon. After a refreshing welcome drink, we show you our on-board facilities and your cosy cabin. As lunch is served, the boat starts cruising. Sit back and watch the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong people.
• In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through a village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits.
• Get back on board and enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape of the Mekong river. The cruise boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious on-board dinner. You stay overnight on board your floating hotel in the Mekong Delta.

Day 2: Cai Rang Floating Market (Breakfast/Lunch)

• Wake up well rested to the sound of the river and get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing in the Mekong Delta.
• 6.30am: the cruise vessel sets off for a sunrise cruise. Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships on the wooden yards while enjoying an early breakfast.
• After breakfast, we will board a sampan boat to Cai Rang floating market, the region’s busiest and most lively markets. On even dates, you will explore the small channels of the Mekong delta around Cai Be with a small sampan or by foot. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits, vegetables and skillfully handcrafted regional products. We will pull up to the boats for talking and bargaining with the merchants. We will also visit some of the local candy and cake making factories or boat through the green water landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards.
• The floating markets in the Mekong Delta are no tourist markets but wholesale markets where produce of the Mekong Delta like fruits and vegetables are traded. For this reason, the number of boats on the market fluctuates depending on harvesting seasons and market demand. Furthermore, modern wholesale markets are becoming more popular in Vietnam. This can result in decreasing numbers of boats being present on the markets.
• On even dates, you will have lunch at the Mekong Rest Stop. On odd dates, lunch is served in Vinh Long City.

• Please be at the hotel entrance five minutes before the agreed pick-up time.
• The tour reserves the right to use other high-quality wineries and gourmet location in the event that regular locations are unable to accommodate the group for tastings.
• Items not included are personal expenses during the tour (dinner, telephone, laundry, beverages etc.)
• Travel Recommends and the tour operator will not be responsible for any accidents, loss of property or damage caused by individual’s negligence.
• The e-ticket cannot be exchanged for cash or used on more than one occasion.
• The value of the e-ticket/e-voucher is in local currency.
• Any alteration(s) on the e-ticket/e-voucher will not be accepted by Travel Recommends and the appointed merchant.
• Tour routes and schedule may be delayed/cancelled/changed without prior notice.
• Tour routes may be subject to cancellation without prior notice due to weather conditions, and (or) any unforeseen circumstances that arise. Full refund will be given to customers under these circumstances.
• No refunds will be entertained for cancellations made within 6 working days from the tour date.
• 100% refund will be given to customers for cancellations made at least 14 working days prior the tour date.
• 50% refund will be given to customers for cancellations made at least 7-13 working days prior the tour date.
• Travel Recommends reserves the right to adjust the prices based on current exchange rates without prior notice.
• Tours and tickets are subjected to availability and are not confirmed until a second confirmation email is received. In the event if the date selected is not available, alternative arrangements will be communicated via email.
