Overview

This tour will let you experience how to be a real farmer with wet rice and buffalo. You also have a chance to be a fisherman and learn how to fish on the eco-friendly fishing villages.
 

• 08:00 Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and ready to bike to Cam Thanh Villages. On the way you will go through picturesque countryside roads with the rice field, nipa palm forest, shrimp or fish farm, ext. You will have an opportunity to witness local Vietnamese rural life, you can get up close and personal with the daily life of them (45 minutes or 1 hour).
• Reach a local house, be welcome with tea and wet tissues. Be explained about the whole process of wet rice cultivation and answer any question related to farming life that you may have.
• Wearing farming clothes before getting into muddy rice field and ride the friendly water buffalo
• The next step, local famer will demonstrate the whole process of wet rice growing with buffalo as following steps:
  • water the field by traditional way to make the soil to be soft
  • ploughing soil to make it to be soft and porous
  • Raking soil to make it to be flat, smooth
• Then, we transplant rice by hand, and show you harvesting techniques as well.
• Now, it is time for you to have a go with farmer’ help, these activities will help you have a real touch to our rice farming daily life.
• Go back to the local house, taking a rest and enjoy a glass of passion juice, then learn how to make white rice (Rice product ready to use in Viet Nam) by traditional way with some old hand machine.
• Firstly, husking the rice to have brown rice - winnowing to separate brown rice from husk – sifting and pounding brown rice to become white rice - grinding white rice to get rice flour, and cooking rice pancake from rice flour
• You will join a short rice pancake cooking class
• Last step is Enjoy the Lunch with some specialties of our village: Tam Huu, Deep Fried Spring Rolls (vegetarian style), Local rice pancake serve with fresh organic vegetable and fish sauce, Steamed rice, Fish (or chicken' meat), shrimp, pork, Season fruits

• After lunch at my house, around 12:00 at noon, we will continue biking to the Fishing village (it takes 10 minutes of biking)
• When we arrive at Fishing Village, meet a local fishing family, learn about daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their custom and community
• Leaving the village behind, you will board our boat and cruise to the mouth of the river where it meets the Cua Dai Sea. Then meeting and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. The local fisherman will show you the method of catching fish that is to throw a round net into the river from a small boat. After being taught how it is done it will be your turn.
• The next part of our adventure is to fish by using a huge square net that is set on the river bed which is then winch up. With helps of another couple of local fisherman you will collect the fish inside that net through a hole at the bottom.
• Following, you will learn to paddle the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket round boat through small and beautiful channel and join in a basket boat race. Then head into the nipa palm forest where tourist have opportunities to catch small crabs by fishing rod for fun as well as some products from this tree was make by our staff for souvenir.
• The whole tour will finish around 15:30-16:00 P.M. Biking back to your hotel.
