Rice is the staple diet in many Asian countries, especially in Vietnam. Perhaps, you have seen rice growing in most of Asian rice paddy fields. However, you do not know the sequence of rice cultivation in Vietnam. It is still secret know how for the western tourists. We would like to organize the wet rice growing tour for you. Through this tour, we instruct you how to cultivate rice in the fields and also help you experience the hardships of Vietnamese farmers. We are sure this tour will make your trip an extremely memorable experience.

• 08:00 Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and ready to bike to Cam Thanh Villages. On the way you will go through picturesque countryside roads with the rice field, nipa palm forest, shrimp or fish farm. You will have an opportunity to witness local Vietnamese rural life, you can get up close and personal with the daily life of them (45 minutes or 1 hour).
• Reach a local house, be welcome with tea and wet tissues. Following, be explained about the whole process of wet rice cultivation and answer any question related to farming life that you may have.
• Then wearing farming clothes and hat before getting into muddy rice field near the house to work as a real farmer with friendly water buffalo, you also have a chance to enjoy a buffalo riding on the field for photo.
• The next step, local famer will demonstrate the whole process of wet rice growing with buffalo as following steps:
  • water the field by traditional way to make the soil to be soft
  • ploughing soil to make it to be soft and porous
  • Raking soil to make it to be flat, smooth
• Then, we transplant rice by hand, and show you harvesting techniques as well.
• Now, it is time for you to have a go with farmer’ help, these activities will help you have a real touch to our rice farming daily life.
• Go back to the local house, taking a rest and enjoying a glass of passion juice. Then learn how to make white rice (Rice product ready to use in Viet Nam) by traditional way with some old hand machine. You will join a short rice pancake cooking class.
• Last mission is enjoying lunch with some specialties of our village: Tam Huu, Deep Fried Spring Rolls (vegetarian style), Local rice pancake served with fresh organic vegetable and fish sauce, Steamed rice, Fish (or chicken' meat), shrimp, pork, Season fruits.
• The tour will be finished around 12- 13:00 pm. Biking back to your hotel.
